Papagayo Beach

Papagayo beach is widely regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful beaches, and it is only a 10-15 minute drive away from Casa Debbie! Alternatively you might like to get a boat taxi from Marina Rubicon directly to Papagayo although this can be fairly expensive. It is also possible to cycle or even walk to the beach, but be aware that there is a 4-5km dirt road leading to the beach which makes for a bumpy ride. We would not recommend walking during the midday sun as there is virtually no shade along the journey, and make sure you take plenty of water with you. There is also a 3 Euro toll to get onto this beach, but it is well worth every cent!

The beach has golden sands and a crystal clear sea which is perfect for cooling off in. You'll also be able to see plenty of fish swarms, even in the shallow water and in the rock pools around the cove. The waves can get fairly big so body boarding is a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Papagayo's stunning views make for an idyllic and relaxing day, but remember to pack plenty of sunscreen as there is virtually no shade on the beach. Please also be aware that, whilst being suitable for families, you may come across the odd nudist.
